Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Facilities Manager for one of our top clients in the Houston area. The Plant/Facility Manager will be responsible for launching and commissioning a new modular assembly site in Houston, focusing on layout design, workflow optimization, staffing, and operational systems. Their initial priorities include preparing the facility, developing safety and quality protocols, hiring the first operations team, and coordinating with engineering and procurement to establish production standards. They will also lead pilot production runs to ensure readiness across workflow, quality, and logistics. Once the site is operational, the role shifts to managing daily production, improving efficiency through lean practices, and scaling the team to meet growing demand. The manager will oversee subcontractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and scheduling standards. Ideal candidates will have experience launching or scaling modular or integration facilities in industries like oil & gas, automotive, aerospace, or power generation.
Responsibilities
- Lead site setup, facility readiness, and layout development (assembly flow, storage, test areas)
- Develop safety programs, QA/QC processes, and material handling protocols
- Define staffing needs and hire the initial operations team
- Partner with procurement and engineering to establish build sequences and standard work
- Oversee daily production and labor performance
- Drive lean implementation and DFMA-based process improvements
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and integration partners
- Ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance across all deliverables

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
- 10+ years’ experience in a Facilities Management role within heavy construction or facilities
o Experience standing up or scaling offsite, modular or integration facilities
Ex: Oil & gas fabrication yards, industrial skids, automotive/aerospace production cells, or power generation
o Prior commissioning experience
- Strong MEP background with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical
o Low voltage experience
o Prior experience working with steel
- Proficient in using P6 and Procure
Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Prior experience standing up a modular pod for data centers
