Job Description
The Stage Test Manager will oversee all stage test operations for the Alpha launch vehicle and support subsystem testing for the new Eclipse vehicle at the Briggs, TX test site. This role is critical in validating flight hardware before it reaches the launch pad, ensuring thrust, propellant masses, pressurization systems, and leak integrity meet mission standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Team & Program Leadership
○ Serve as Integrated Product Team Manager for stage testing
○ Manage test stand schedules across multiple programs
○ Lead KPI development and tracking
○ Conduct daily stand meetings and escalate blockers
○ Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of test engineers and operators
• Test Operations
○ Integrate, instrument, and test rocket components using advanced test stands and software
○ Serve as Test Director or Test Conductor during campaigns
○ Execute test plans and procedures using voice comms and control systems
○ Collaborate with engineering teams to develop formal test plans and procedures
○ Analyze test data and ensure systems operate as expected
○ Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies during testing
○ Implement automation and equipment upgrades to improve efficiency
• Launch Support
○ Support launch campaigns at customer launch sites (California, Virginia, and others)
○ Participate in roles such as Launch Pad Responsible Engineer, Vehicle/Ground Controller, Launch Conductor, or Launch Director
○ Travel up to 20% annually for launch operations

Required Skills & Experience
Required:
• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience (5+ years in hardware test operations of space/launch vehicles )
• Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals and excellent communication skills
• Hands-on experience with fluid and electrical systems (valves, regulators, pumps, LV systems)
• Ability to lift 30 lbs and work on your feet in field environments
Willingness to travel for launch suppor
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience leading technical teams in fast-paced environments
• Background in component testing, launch vehicle testing, or launch operations
• Familiarity with:
○ Scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira)
○ Data tools (e.g., PowerBI, SQL)
○ Instrumentation and data acquisition systems
○ Python or similar tools for data analysis and automation
○ Reading technical drawings, GD&T, and P&IDs
○ Fluid system computations (e.g., pressure drop, valve timing)
