Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our Environmental and Economic Planning team. This is a full-time, onsite role based in downtown Houston, ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about data engineering and eager to apply their Python skills to real-world challenges in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support environmental and economic planning initiatives.
Work with large datasets from internal and external sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
Collaborate with analysts, planners, and developers to deliver clean, structured data for dashboards, models, and applications.
Write efficient Python code to automate data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes.
Apply knowledge of data structures and algorithms to optimize performance and scalability.
Participate in code reviews, documentation, and team discussions to continuously improve workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in building scripts and tools.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Must be able to work onsite every day in downtown Houston.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with data engineering tools or platforms (e.g., Pandas, SQL, Airflow, Spark).
Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
Demonstrated passion for data through personal projects, GitHub contributions, or academic work.
Interest in environmental sustainability and economic modeling in the O&G sector.
