Job Description
An EPC firm in Beaumont, TX, is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation General Manager to run their electrical division, reporting to the VP of Construction. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership and helping set company goals, operational targets, performance standards - monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market opportunities to maintain competitiveness. They will oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, including project management, construction operations, safety, procurement, and administration.
Further Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring projects are planned, staffed, and executed in accordance with schedules, budgets, and specifications.
- Allocating resources effectively - including labor, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity.
- Establishing, implementing, and monitoring standard operating procedures and standard work practices to improve efficiency.
- Developing and managing facility budgets, forecasts, and profit/loss accountability.
- Reviewing project bids, proposals, and contract negotiations to ensure competitiveness and profitability, track labor productivity, material usage, and equipment costs to control expenses.
- Ensuring proper financial reporting and compliance with corporate requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and new opportunities.
- Lead pre-bid and pre-construction activities, including review of drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
- Represent the company at client meetings, industry associations, and networking events.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify new markets, services, or geographic expansions.
- Recruit, train, and mentor department managers and staff to build a high-performing team.
- Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Resolve conflicts and provide direction to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Champion the company’s safety culture ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA, client safety standards and environmental regulations/requirements.
- Implement quality assurance programs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as contractual obligations.
- Support sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with all codes and regulations governing electrical and instrumentation work.
- Provide regular updates on project status, financial health, workforce needs, and client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving critical client and project issues.

Required Skills & Experience
Ability to get and hold the company's electrical license
10+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation construction
Strong understanding of NEC, IEC, and other relevant codes
Proficiency in reviewing electrical drawings, cable schedules, and wiring diagrams
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Experience with estimating, procurement, and scheduling tools
Strong vendor and supplier relationship management
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree
