Job Description

An employer in the Houston, TX area is seeking a Sr. Communications Technician to join their Voice Communications team. This team is responsible for the support and maintenance of the enterprise organization's telecommunications network. The Sr. Communications Tech will be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Avaya Communications equipment. The tech with be assisting in related projects, providing technical support for the field, working closely with IT and Engineering teams to drive standards, and provide feedback in support of voice and data infrastructures. This person should come from an Avaya technical background including experience programming Avaya solutions Platform and Gateways. This role will require travel around the greater-Houston, TX area as well as 24/7 support for the field. This is a permanent opportunity paying an hourly range of $45 - $64 with the possibility of over time.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years experience in Telecommunications roles supporting Avaya Communications equipment

Experience maintaining, installing, and programming Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Solutions Platform (ASP) 8300, and G4xx Gateways

Experience with version 6 or above of Avaya systems / equipment

Associates degree in electronics or related field (or supplemental years of professional experience)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Networking Knowledge: OSI Layers

Active CCNA or other related network, Telecommuncations, or communications certs.
