Job Description
A leading Oil & Gas company in downtown Houston is seeking a Solutions Engineer / IT Business Analyst to join its Information Systems department. This role plays a critical part in the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise software solutions that drive downstream operations—including inventory movement, contract management, and accounting analytics.
The application provides strategic insights into third-party contracts and sales activities, supporting internal teams such as Marketing and Accounting, with potential visibility for Engineering divisions involved in transportation deals. This position offers a clear growth path toward becoming a Product Manager or Product Owner.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the management and continuous improvement of a production-level enterprise application
• Translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, developers, and business stakeholders
• Prototype and test new features and workflows to enhance user experience
Support the full application lifecycle—from concept to deployment and ongoing optimization
Location: Downtown Houston, TX
Schedule: Onsite, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $60–$75/hr (based on experience)

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and ability to interpret relational data
• Understanding of marketing and supply chain operations within the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working with Software Development groups
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for solving complex business challenges
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Python development skills
