Job Description

A healthcare provider in Houston, TX is looking for a Surgical Technologist to join their team. This role is responsible for preparing surgical instruments and equipment for a wide range of procedures, including Orthopedics (Mako), Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, and Plastics. The technologist will scrub in on surgical cases, assist the surgeon by maintaining a sterile field, and ensure efficient room turnover and instrument decontamination. Additionally, this position plays a key role in orienting and mentoring new surgical technicians. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of human anatomy, aseptic techniques, and the principles of growth and development across all age groupsfrom infants to geriatrics. This will be a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Experience in scrubbing in on surgical cases to assist the surgeon by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures (Ortho (Mako), GYN, ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastics), and aseptic techniques.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Excellent communication skills for educating patients and families.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Someone who can demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as they relate to specific age groups, including infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Someone who can contribute to the orientation and training of new surgical technicians.
