Insight Global is seeking a Lead Accounting Research Analyst to join a large Utility company here in Houston, Texas. The role offers a hybrid schedule, competitive benefits, and opportunity for growth. This role supports the Accounting Research Manager by handling complex and technical accounting matters, including the evaluation and implementation of new financial accounting standards, analysis of unique business transactions, and the development and maintenance of accounting policies. The position also collaborates closely with the financial reporting department to ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements, while serving as a liaison to external auditors. Key responsibilities include researching and documenting accounting considerations for transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, and financings; leading implementation efforts for new accounting standards; supporting cross-functional teams with technical accounting guidance; and managing ad-hoc projects with strong communication and project management skills.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business related
- CPA or Eligible with plan
- 5+ years of experience relevant to the role
- Experience writing memos
- Experience working through complex accounting issues
- Experience with Accounting Research within previous or current job
- Strong understanding of GAAP & SEC guidance
- Experience in project management and process improvements
- Experience handling multiple projects or clients at one time
- Strong written and verbal communication
