Job Description

A large healthcare employer in Houston, TX is seeking a Physician Educator & Auditor to join their growing team. This team will consist of provider auditors and educators who work closely with the providers to ensure the documentation is correct and effective from a coding and clinical perspective. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable building rapport with providers and able to help educate them on the best practices for clinical documentation and be able to answer any questions and explain their answers/solutions. He/she will also need to have a good understanding of coding guidelines and documentation and how to support a level of service with the correct and efficient documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of recent experience auditing providers

Specialties Needed: Urology, General Surgery, GI, Bariatrics and OBGYN

Multispecialty auditing experience - E/M leveling and surgical coding

Profee coding background CPC or COC Coding Certification from AAPC

Knowledgeable of teaching physician guidelines and coding guidelines about split shared visits

Knowledge of coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures affecting the coding process

Must reside in one of the following states: TX, OK, LA, TN, FL, and GA

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Auditing Credential (CPMA)
Bachelors Degree
