An employer is seeking a Java Developer for a large financial client sitting in Plano, TX. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong Angular expertise to assist in the migration and modernization of an existing codebase. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless transition of legacy functionality into a modern, scalable architecture, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and responsive UI experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand existing application architecture and migration goals.
Refactor and rewrite legacy code in Java and Angular, ensuring feature parity and performance improvements.
Design and implement backend services, RESTful APIs, and integrate with frontend components.
Develop rich, responsive Angular-based UIs, translating UX designs into high-quality code.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration efforts.
Identify and resolve issues in migrated code related to performance, security, and compatibility.
Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment pipelines.
Document technical specifications, migration strategies, and best practices for long-term maintainability.

6+ years of experience in Java development, including Spring Boot and REST APIs.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (v8 or higher).
Proven track record of contributing to or leading code migration or modernization efforts.
Strong understanding of full-stack development, including backend logic and frontend interaction.
Proficiency in using version control (Git) and CI/CD tools.
Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
Experience migrating applications to microservices or cloud-based architectures.
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and deployment to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
