Job Description

The Mainframe Support resource will serve as a Level 3 Application Support Subject Matter Expert within the Global Information Security organization at a major financial institution. This hands-on role involves triaging and resolving high-priority production issues (P1P3), supporting application deployments, and providing after-hours and on-call support. The candidate will manage backend service operations for a high-volume environment that supports real-time authorizations and transactions for over 60 million customers, including debit card payments, Zelle, and account balance inquiries. Responsibilities include identifying root causes in code or databases, performing break-fix activities, generating ad hoc data reports, maintaining process documentation, and recommending system enhancements. The role also requires cross-functional collaboration, ensuring proper monitoring and controls, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve operational efficiency. This position is on-site three days per week in Plano, TX.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of developing/supporting Mainframe based applications.
5+ Years of developing batch using Job Control Language (JCL).
5+ Years of analyzing/developing COBOL programs.
5+ Years of experience with tools such as CA7 (some exposure), NDM/FTP, File Manager.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- 5+ Years of experience with VSAM, DB2 and CICS.
- Financial institution background
