Job Description
This person will be conducting triage and failure analysis on PC devices that come in from the field. This analysis includes inspecting devices at the system, sub-system, and component level. Using a variety of tools and techniques, diagnose what is wrong with the device, identify the root cause of the failure, and providing the findings to management/engineering staff for further action. The failures will be related to, but not limited to: motherboard and electrical components, system software, drivers, chassis integrity, cabling, screen and bezel damage/wear, keyboard, touchpad, ports, etc.
This position is working in a lab environment and the typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST.
Compensation: $28-35/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience performing failure / root-cause analysis on PC devices down to the component level
PC teardown ability without compromising failure evidence
Ability to read/interpret schematics and board layouts
Experience with electrical debugging techniques/methodologies
Experience using tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, X-Ray/CT, cross-sectioning components, thermal imaging etc.
Ability to report detailed findings (written & verbal communication)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Degree in an electronics related field of study
Previous HP experience or experience working on HP branded devices
