Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer for one of their top clients in the North Houston area. This person will be responsible for drive the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and engineering approaches for the company. You will work directly with technology leadership to prototype new approaches, advise technical and business teams adopting new tools, and work with tech leads to
evolve our stack to enable smooth AI integration. You'll take a pragmatic approach, prioritizing valuable use cases with measurable outcomes, and pushing for simple approaches where extra complexity isn't needed. This person will ideally be coming from a Data Engineer, AI/ML Engineer, or Platform Engineer background. This will be an independent role reporting directly to the Director of Bi Analytics & Data Warehousing.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years programming in a team context
Strong programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Java, Scala, Python, Rust, Typescript, Go.

Previous experience working on either personal or professional AI projects using most recent AI tools.

Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Strong experience working in Kafka for streaming/messaging.

Strong understanding of data/backend fundamentals around compute, storage, and
streaming.

Experienced in IaC (infrastructure as code) for CI/CD pipeline deployment.

API authorization management & development experience using tools like OAuth.

Must be comfortable building out UIs/frontends for POCs using React preferably (open to any frontend framework).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with MCP (model context protocol)
Experience implementing ML or optimization projects
Hands-on experience implementing LLM-based tools in a business context
