Were looking for a Python Developer to join a steady team supporting their network automation-focused projects. In this role, youll work alongside three development-focused teams (6-7 engineers each) to build backend applications that support network engineering automation efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute their Python skills while deepening their understanding of network orchestration tools like Ciena Blue Planet MDSO, Cisco NSO, and Netcracker.
What Youll Be Doing:
-Develop and maintain backend applications using Python and FastAPI
-Build automation tools and reports that streamline network operations and reporting processes
-Design and manage SQL database schemas and queries
-Work with APIs to integrate external data and services
-Use data visualization techniques to create insightful and actionable reports
-Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions
-Troubleshoot issues and optimize application performance
-Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code
-Stay current with the latest in development tools, best practices, and tech trends

-3+ years of hands-on Python development experience
-Strong working knowledge of SQL
-Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
-Experience working with APIs, JSON, and version control (Git)
-Comfortable writing test-driven/unit-tested code (TDD)
-A genuine interest in networking fundamentals (think: OSI model, IP routing, and technologies like Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Cradlepoint, Metro Ethernet "MET", ADVA, RAD, and Nokia)
-Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
-Please share your GitHub or other examples of your work!
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
-Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP)
-Familiarity with Flask or Django
Local to Austin, TX
Compensation: $40/hr to $45/hr
**Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
