Job Description

The Leave of Absence Specialist will work within the People & Culture division, fully onsite at Copart's Headquarters. details of day-today are seen below.
Oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations under FMLA, ADA, Workers' Comp, unemployment claims, and state/local leave laws.
Handle FMLA leave administration from initial notice to return to work, including paperwork, eligibility, medical certification, and tracking leave use.
Process Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring compliance with laws and maintaining detailed records.
Facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodations.
Communicate between employees and managers during leave.
Analyze and process unemployment insurance claims.
Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and workers' compensation.
Manage the return-to-work process for extended leave.
Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws.
Draft and recommend revisions to company leave policies.
Maintain accurate records and preserve confidentiality of medical documentation.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
at Least 5 years of experience in leave administration, LOA compliance, and FMLA, ADA, Workers' Comp laws
Knowledge of US state legal policies around workers comp.
Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Specialized certification or training in FMLA/leave administration.
Knowledge of Canadian legal policies.
