Job Description

An E&P client of Insight Global's is looking for a Staff Geologist/Geoscientist for the subsurface development department to work deepwater fields. The candidate must have a demonstrated proficiency in constructing conventional field models and experience in well planning and drilling. They should have expertise in Petrel together with an understanding of geologic models for field development, resource/reserve estimation and well trajectory planning is required.

The Staff Geologist will have the ability to apply quantitative analysis techniques, such as paleogeography, sequence stratigraphy, geo-statistics, and risk analysis to identify and optimize development of infield hydrocarbon potential. They should have experience in building and modifying geological models to accommodate reservoir engineering history matching information is also required. The position requires a self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and shifting priorities

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Geology or other geoscience discipline
10+ years of experience in oil and gas exploration and development
5+ years of reservoir modeling
Experience in sedimentological and stratigraphic characterization of deepwater depositional systems
Experience in developing depositional facies model through different stochastic and object modeling techniques
Experience in running uncertainty analysis
Experience in integrating core, pressure, fluid, paleo and seismic into geological frameworks and models

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Master's degree in Geology or related
Experience in Deepwater Miocene and Wilcox reservoirs
