Job Description

A Fortune 500 aerospace and defense company is seeking a Cybersecurity Penetration Test Engineer to join their team in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for adversarial, verification, and certification testing of aircraft systems and components for both manned and optionally manned aircraft. This role involves collaborating with test pilots, design engineers, and simulation lab engineers to develop and implement test scenarios that enhance aircraft security using advanced cyber tools and benches.
As an integral part of the team, you will work closely with customers and subcontractors, participating in the organization, planning, and management of new and existing aircraft to conduct cyber testing that meets customer-defined requirements. You will build and integrate custom tools, tests, and research test equipment to provide cutting-edge testing for aircraft systems and sensors. Additionally, you will develop and execute cybersecurity test procedures based on program test plans for both future and existing aircraft systems.
This role requires supporting new aircraft and technology development, as well as proprietary adversarial testing tools and techniques, while creating data interfaces for Ethernet, serial, and various avionics bus protocols. You will support the entire software development life cycle, from requirements definition to product deployment.
This position is onsite in Fort Worth, Texas, with a 9/80 work schedule, providing every other Friday off

Required Skills & Experience

At least 2 years of experience in penetration or adversarial testing, cyber threat analysis, vulnerability detection/exploitation, adversarial attack development, and system exploitation.
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification or equivalent.
Hands-on experience in aircraft architecture testing, including vulnerability and verification testing.
Hardware-based cybersecurity testing experience using field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology.
Expertise in detecting, analyzing, and mitigating malware, understanding trends in malware development, and proficiency in malware analysis.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of traditional IEEE (802.1, 802.11, and 802.3) bus analysis and testing. Familiarity with non-traditional standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, AFDX, and TSN) is preferred.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technical engineering field. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will also be considered.
