Cyber Security Operations Manager

A utility company in the Northwest Houston area is looking to hire a full time Cyber Security Operations Manager. This person will Lead and manage the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) team, oversee security event monitoring and response activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to security standards. Responsibilities include managing a team of analysts, assessing security measures, working with security engineering teams, and overseeing training. This role requires administrative duties such as budgeting, status reporting and metrics, as well as managerial responsibilities including delegation, communication, project leadership, and process evaluation. This is a hybrid role and candidates must be willing to work onsite in the Jersey Village/Willowbrook area of Houston 3 days/week. Based on knowledge and experience, this role offers a base salary of $1400,000-$150,000.

7+ years of experience in a SOC environment
2+ years of experience as a Cyber Security Operations Manager or SOC leadership responsibilities
Experience in leading cyber incident response, including detection, containment, mitigation, and recovery
Experience with cloud security, SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls and network monitoring tools
Extensive hands on experience with cyber incident response, threat hunting, threat intelligence, cloud security, and vulnerability management
Experience leading and managing a team of CSOC analysts working 24x7, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and career development
Experience handling budget, status reports and metrics
Excellent communication and multi-tasking ability

Experience with Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security
Experience working in the utility industry
Experience with Splunk and Sentinel
