Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor for a major utility company headquartered in downtown Houston, TX. This role offers great benefits, opportunity for growth within the organization, and leadership opportunities. This person will be working heavily with the auditing team of 6, but also the accounting, finance, legal, Treasury, payroll, executives, and field managers. This person will need to be highly self-motivated, team player, and have excellent written and oral communication. This person will be advising on financial, compliance risks, operational risks, process reviews, and internal control validations. Day-to-Day this person will be responsible for financial, operational, contractor, and vendor audits. They will be developing lead engagements for risk control assessments, efficient/effective audit objectives, audit workpapers, audit programs, testing procedures, and audit staff. They will be communicating the status of audit work with the team, upper management. This person will also assist in the training and development of two newer Auditors and utilize SAP and Coupa daily. This person will work a standard 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule Monday through Friday and will need to travel domestically 5-10% of work time (Typically 1-week trips). This person will also be involved in any emergency procedures that arise due to weather or other natural disasters.

Required Skills & Experience

5 - 10 Years of experience
Public accounting or utility industry experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or other business-related discipline
CPA/CIA acquired or eligible
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

SAP or Coupa experience
Risk based audit or top-tier public accounting experience
Proficient with Microsoft office Suite
Experience presenting and working with upper management
Strong teamwork and leadership skills
