An oil and gas client of Insight Global is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Downtown Houston. This person will be responsible for supporting off-the-shelf information systems and custom-written web applications. He/she will resolve issues related to supported system configurations, networking problems, and performance bottlenecks. Additionally, they will help create and maintain detailed documentation while adhering to best practices and procedures. The ideal candidate will be more of a novice team member who can exhibit critical thinking skills, eagerness to learn, and agility. It is essential that this person is a great communicator as they will work directly with business users while under minimal supervision. They must be able to report onsite from 7:30-5:00 Monday-Thursday and 7:30-12:30 on Fridays. The salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $120,000/year.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years of experience supporting web-based applications/systems
Extensive experience writing code in a common scripting language (JavaScript, Shell, Bash, or Python)
Strong front-end development experience (React preferred)
Working knowledge of Windows Servers
Proficient in using prototyping and mockup tools
Experience working with a code repository tool (Git, GitHub, or Subversion)
Back-end programming experience (C#, Java, or Python)
