Job Description

The company is a professional services consulting company that has a large portfolio of 100% customer-facing, concurrent, IT infrastructure engagements to deliver. A senior project manager at this company will be required to be entirely customer facing and run 15-20 IT projects at once. After pre-sales signs an SOW, the project management office will then take on the scope, assemble the delivery team from SHI's internal technical resource pool, and run each project through to completion. These projects are typically short-term and use waterfall methodology.

The technical domains that the company delivers within are Cloud, Networking/Security/Firewall, Microsoft, Data Center, Field Services and a few others.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leading project engagements to achieve the scope as described in Statements of Work.
Conducting project kick offs and creating a project schedule to ensure that the project is executed on time and on budget.
Assembly of the project team based on scope and expertise, establishing roles and responsibilities and then coordinating resources throughout the engagement to ensure tasks are executed appropriately.
Communicating Customer status updates which include action items, issues and risks as well as developing and facilitating mitigation plans.
Executing change requests to project scope, schedule, and or cost as needed.
Acting as the single point of contact for any issues or escalations throughout the project.
Conducting project close activities to confirm deliverables were achieved

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications
10+ years of project management experience
5+ years of external customer-facing (not just internal projects or vendor managed projects)

CANDIDATES WITHOUT EXTERNAL CLIENT/CONSULTING PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED

Experience successfully managing multiple, complex, customer-facing projects at one time
Experience using waterfall methodology to execute IT infrastructure projects
Proficiency in MS office tools MS Projects, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Effectively allocate and manage project budgets, both time and material as well as fixed fee
Strong interpersonal (collaboration and listening) skills.
Ability to lead and motivate project teams
Ability to monitor performance in a consistent manner and provide actionable, proactive feedback and/or course corrections

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Certifications Required
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent or
Commitment to become PMP certified within one year of employment
