Day-to-day:
An employer in the Houston, TX area is looking for an Electrical Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed electrical estimates and working with the project management team. They will join the service team working alongside one other estimator. Their projects consist of building renovations and additions in the commercial and industrial space. This person will be responsible for the full takeoff of the estimating process. This person will be responsible for estimating on projects that can range up $4 or $5 million.
Responsibilities:
Takeoff: A takeoff in estimating is a process of listing out the necessary materials required for a project, with an estimated quantity and unit cost for each. It is based on the project's blueprint and helps to determine the overall cost of the project. A takeoff can be specific to a certain material, such as lumber, or cover all the materials needed. This position pays in the range of $70,000-$110,000 depending on experience.
