Our client is seeking an experienced senior automation engineer to plan, design, and implement instrumentation and control systems for municipal and industrial water/wastewater clients throughout the United States. Prospective candidates shall have the ability to work independently in leading the design of medium to large sized projects. The work will consist of leading the development of SCADA master plans, instrumentation and control system designs, and communication system designs that follow industry and cyber security best practices. In addition to the technical duties, the role will consist of active participation in business development, marketing, project scheduling and budgeting, and overall project financial oversight.
Responsibilities
- Ability to manage projects successfully
- Primary client interface
- Experience managing project budgets
- Experience preparing SCADA master plans as well as instrumentation and controls related design documents including P&IDs, loop wiring diagrams, control system architecture diagrams, specifications, and instrument lists
- Experience preparing electrical designs, power system analysis, 1-line diagrams, 3-line diagrams, raceway plans, and lighting plans is a plus
- Experience applying the National Electrical Code (NEC) and power system software such as ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM is a plus
- Ability to lead and facilitate client workshops to gain consensus as to the direction of the project
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Ability to direct and mentor other junior staff.
***The pay for this role starts at $115,000 and increases based on experience and certifications.

Bachelor degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of practical experience is required
PE license required
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access etc.) expected
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship
- Must be able to commute to San Antonio office
- MUST have PE license
