Day-to-day:
A client in Austin, Texas is looking for a Plumbing Design Engineer. The Plumbing Designer will work with the lead mechanical engineer to document the plumbing and fire protection design in CADD or Revit. The position will collaborate with other plumbing staff on the project to complete tasks and plumbing design to meet the manpower budget as well as meeting the project deadlines. The position will coordinate the mechanical and electrical design staff so that the design is completely coordinated amongst disciplines.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards.
· Design of appropriate plumbing systems for the project including domestic water, sanitary, storm water and gas systems
· Documenting redmarks provided by the engineering staff on the project
· Performing appropriate calculations as directed by senior plumbing staff
· Knowledge of the state and local codes
· Coordination with other in-house disciplines as required
· Review and back-check work for complete and accurate documentation
· Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines
· Coordinate manpower needs weekly with the Project EOR
Review the plumbing design budget hours and coordinate any recommended adjustments with the Project engineer
