Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Power Electronics Engineer for a commercial space client in Webster, TX. This person will be designing, developing, testing and verifying the electrical power systems for a commercial spacecraft. This person will be working in a high voltage and high current environment, designing these power systems from scratch. They will be working cross functionally with the hardware and software teams to develop requirements for power system features, diagnostics and algorithms.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with power system electronics design
Designing, developing, testing, and verifying electrical power systems
Designing DC-DC converters for high voltage and high amps
Experience with high voltage and high current switches: Thyristors, MOSFET, IGBT
Experience with solar arrays including design of maximum power point tracking
Experience with PCB layout, manufacturing, EEE part selection, and environmental qualifications

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working on space related projects (manned/unmanned spaceflight OR satellite)
