Job Description

A client in Houston is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst with a robust Product Owner perspective to play a pivotal role in the strategic integration of their IT solutions and business operations. This position involves a blend of analytical acumen and leadership prowess, aimed at transforming business needs into effective technology strategies. This individual will take the helm in identifying business requirements, devising system enhancements, and steering the development and implementation of sophisticated IT projects that align with strategic objectives.

Day to Day responsibilities include:



· Serve as the primary subject matter expert for some of our application platforms, understanding operational processes and business needs to drive improvements and optimizations.

· Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify, prioritize, and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

· Lead requirement gathering sessions through interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis to identify and document business needs and requirements.

· Critically evaluate and prioritize enhancement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational benefits.

· Develop and maintain comprehensive functional and system documentation, including business process flows and end-user training materials.

· Liaise with internal and external teams, including Development/Product teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technology solutions with business operations.

· Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

· Design solutions for complex business challenges, leveraging your strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.

· Assist in the coordination and support of IT projects by tracking progress, ensuring clear communication between team members, and managing minor project tasks to support project goals within established timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

· Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst with a strong IT background.

· Experience leading or supporting an enterprise application implementation

· Experience with change management

· Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

· 8-10+ years of business experience, preferably with experience in implementing and optimizing technology solutions.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.

· Ability to travel 5-10% of the time.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in a variety of applications including but not limited to Firstup, Cornerstone, Salesforce, Adobe

Experience training end user in LMS, Firstup, Salesforce, or other applications

Examples of improvements regarding LMS and other application uses in previous positions

Experience working in a decentralized environment -- multiple operating units utilizing these applications
