Job Description

A large utilities client in Downtown Houston is hiring a Data Scientist to join their team to support a major corporate initiative to improve workforce routing within their operations business. This role will write code and lead conversations around the routing and optimization components of the initiative. The core areas of focus will be mathematical optimization, software engineering, and feature engineering. This role is expected to collaborate with internal Data Scientists, business SMEs and communicate results to a non-technical audience. The Data Scientist must be a team player and have experience leading a team.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience as a data scientist



Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a quantitative science or engineering field



Strong mathematical background, specifically in optimization and linear algebra



Software engineering experience with SQL and Python



Strong background in program engineering



Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience



Able to communicate with stakeholders and collaborate with a team

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity working and tracking bugs within Azure DevOps



Experience working on route optimization problems



Experience working within ArcGIS or similar Geospatial tools



Experience working within the Utility Industry
