Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to join their team in the SE Houston area. This person will be responsible for a piece of the program and participate in the development from start to finish. They will develop designs, specify and configure propulsion systems to meet requirements, use modeling and simulation tools to estimate system performance and compliance, and lead design reviews with customers and suppliers. This person will be responsible for interfacing with external vendors on cost, schedule, design, etc. and they will schedule evaluations for safety and risks. Lastly, they will oversee the integration of propulsion hardware.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of propulsion engineering experience



Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or physics



Experience with analysis toolsets (ANSYS, Easy5, Fluent, GFSSP, TDK)



Design, analysis, testing, certification, and operation of space-rated propulsion system experience



3D modeling experience



MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or related software knowledge



Agile or Scrum environment experience



Knowledge of aerospace design and test standards

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

SolidWorks experience



Experience in human spaceflight
