Accountable for serving as the coordinator and liaison for the organization's Policy & Procedure (P&P)
program. Interacts with the facility based P&P coordinators to assure all policies are kept up to date,
reviewed periodically for necessary revisions, archived for historical reference and the ability to retrieve as
needed. Must have strong clinical knowledge and expertise as well as excellent communication and
organization skills in order to appropriately provide support over a significant body of clinically technical
policies and interface with policy owners in all areas of the organization, both clinical and non-clinical.
Collaborates with Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Administration, and Clinical Leadership to
achieve P& P program objectives.
- Ability to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate effectiveness of the web-based P&P system -- assuring that hospital executives and management are apprised of policies or procedures requiring review or revision.
- Works with manager to facilitate and coordinate the development, revision or archiving of facility based and system policies and procedures.
- Works effectively with the Education Council to assure all changes to practice are communicated to the current staff and incorporated into orientation for newly hired staff.
- Develops and maintains an effective P& P tracking system and auditing process to assure the review, revision, and approval process is adhered to.
- May be asked to serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced policy and procedure staff.
- Maintains an accurate retention system within database in order to produce current as well as out of date policies and procedures necessary in litigation or trials.
- Assures minimum regulatory requirements and standards are reflected in the policies and procedures

- Education: Bachelors degree or above, Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing
- At least three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office platform to format and maintain web-based policies and procedures
- Must be a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently to achieve required objectives.
