Job Description
This client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Houston, Tx. The Manufacturing Engineer will assist with implementing lean manufacturing principles across assigned work areas including 6S, Standard Work, QDIP boards, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, benchmarking, Total Preventative Maintenance, Work cell design, inventory flow, and other Operational Excellence objectives. This individual will also be responsible for reviewing ECR, ECO, NCR, B.O.M, drawings to ensure design for manufacturability, and contribute to cost improvement activities throughout assigned work areas. Additionally, this person must demonstrate and teach company policies on operating standards, safety, maintenance, quality, and cost control, as well as maintain good working relations, coordinate with shop personnel, and write reports. This person will be required to report onsite and open to working occasional Saturdays as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of welding experience in the manufacturing industry with large, fabricated components.
Minimum 1 year of experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings & related weld symbols.
Use of standard Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Training or hands-on experience in Operational Excellence fundamentals, including 6S, Standard Work, and Visual Management.
