Job Description

One of the fastest growing retail convenient store in the US is seeking a Manager of Occupational Safety to join their team. This position will report directly to the Director Risk Management and will partner closely with the Risk Management team.



Position Responsibilities:

--Promote and drive a culture of safety and accident prevention across the organization.

--Identify and remediate store-level safety challenges by determining root causes and implementing approved corrective actions.

--Conduct and document store-level safety and risk audits, produce assessments, and implement approved corrective action where necessary.

--Continuously monitor incident reports, safety metrics, and other trends to assist in the identification of safety and risk-related training needs and new safety initiatives.

--Conduct physical demand assessments of company positions to support light duty and return to work initiatives for employees that sustain both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.

--Develop emergency plans, standard operating procedures, and training materials for emergency situations, including weather events, workplace threats and violence.

--Advise and collaborate on safety issues and compliance for current and new company initiatives.

--Investigate and respond to all OSHA inquiries and investigations.

Required Skills & Experience

5-7 years of safety experience preferably in the retail, supermarket, and restaurant or food industry

Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety and understanding of nationally recognized standards and codes

Ability to create training documentation/learning materials in support of the safety program and communicate to the field in an effective manner

Proven ability to enhance and reform existing safety procedures and protocols

Adept at building relationships with field operations and leadership in promoting a culture of safety

Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OHST (Occupational Health and Safety), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
