Job Description
A midstream oil and gas company in Houston, TX, is looking for a Measurement Engineer to join their team. This team is a group of Engineers that provide technical support to the field for flow computers. A flow computer is an industrialized computer that sits in a medal box out in the field that calculates gas flow. They will be responsible for supporting the field when it comes to managing, configuring, and troubleshooting with their three flow computer systems. The three brands they are currently using are OMNI, Emerson ROC and ABB. This team has always supported Natural Gas pipelines as well as CO2, and going into 2024, they will be incorporating product pipes. Product pipes can include gasoline, diesel, crude oil, etc. the list goes on. This team is learning how to support Product / measurement pipes and needs a tenured Measurement Engineer who has worked with these systems before on the product side.
Duties: Making configuration changes, answering support calls, doing upgrades, will be involved in new installations (helping configure devices for new installations), helping configure devices for upgrades, directing and upgrading projects (OMNI conversion to ABB to standardize), helping with computer related problem (software's that run on laptops that allow them to interface to devices & configure them, deal a lot with IT & cyber concerns constantly running into problems with compatibility, so have to work with IT team to figure problems out), may be a part of the drawings and designing for the terminal box where all the wiring comes in, etc.
Required Skills & Experience
-Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree (would consider a technician with heavy flow computer skills)
-5+ years of experience as an Engineer within Product / Measurement space
-Experience with flow computers (OMNI, Emerson ROC, ABB -- they use all three)
-Oil & gas or water / wastewater industry experience (any liquid movement through pipeline)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-SQL
-Clear SCADA (their SCADA platform)
-Programming platform (IEC61131)
