Job Description

Our client is a regional credit union that is looking for a Legal Counsel for 6 months, starting immediately, with possible extensions and conversions. The role is onsite 3-4 days a week with added flexibility once established.



Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal services to internal clients on a variety of transactional matters and for providing support to the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel on other legal matters as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor and supplier contracts, amendments, and terminations.

* Drafting and filing all documents related to formation of new entities, name changes and other entity matters.

* With advice from the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and outside law firms, provide legal advice and counsel to management on certain issues as necessary.

* Additional responsibilities may include providing support to the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel with respect to review and negotiation of major vendor contracts, conducting legal research, coordinating with outside law firms to manage litigation, and additional legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel.



* Juris Doctorate Degree and must be licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for reciprocity.

* Minimum of five years of experience practicing law at a law firm or in-house legal department drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, amendments and terminations or commercial litigation experience.
