An employer is looking for a Data Analyst for one of their premier technology clients in North Houston. This person will be expected to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and be regarded as a subject matter expert. He or she will frequently contribute to the development of new ideas and methods, work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. This person will act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies as well as, frequently representing the organization to external customers/clients. This person will be expected to exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. He or she may provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees as well.
This person will lead a broad range of complex Cost, Finance and Supply chain processes predicting and analyzing the component data by fiscal quarters and regions. He or she will contribute to priority projects by adding creative insights and developing recommendations, identifying opportunities for process improvement and leading/developing recommendations/insight for management. He or she will work cross-functionally to prioritize internal and external partners and communicate requirements and guidelines to the regional and global business unit teams. This person will be expected to work onsite one day a week (Tuesdays) so must be local to Houston or Spring, TX area.
3+ years of experience in Data analysis and/or analytics (one or more areas: finance, cost, marketing, SC)
Extensive knowledge and understanding of how to analyze business problems using multiple data analysis/visualization tools
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with financial modelling and visualization tools (Tableau)
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Excellent internal and external relationship management skills
Very strong project management skills, with capability to manage cross functional teams in multiple geographies
Strong leadership skills including team-building and conflict resolution and management
Statistical analysis experience with either R or Python
Master's degree
Previous HP experience
