Insight Global is looking for a DOT Compliance Engineer for one of our premier clients in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to DOT pipeline compliance and PHMSA current and proposed regulations governing transportation of crude oil, NGLs, natural gas and CO2 in 49 CFR Parts 190-199. State regulations governing oil and gas pipelines and gathering lines in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Interaction with local, State and Federal agencies (e.g., EPA, OSHA, BLM, or Coast Guard) on pipeline matters, including inspections, rulemakings, and enforcement. Advocacy with regulatory agencies, trade associations and landowners on pipeline matters. CO2 Processing, gathering and transportation. Corrosion, Cathodic Protection, and mitigation. Operational processes and requirements for DOT control rooms. Working knowledge of Emergency Response Plans dealing with pipeline strikes, leaks, or uncontrolled releases.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or other related Engineering degrees.
Professional Engineering License.
10+ years industry experience working in midstream or downstream oil and gas dealing with fluid transportation in regulated pipelines.
Deep working knowledge of but not limited to :DOT pipeline compliance and PHMSA current and proposed regulations governing transportation of crude oil, NGLs, natural gas and CO2. State regulations governing oil and gas pipelines and gathering lines in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. History of positive interaction with local, State and Federal agencies on pipeline matters, including inspections, rulemakings and enforcement. Proven track record communicating with regulatory agencies, trade associations, and landowners on pipeline matters.
Experience with unconventional reservoirs (Permian or Rockies experience a plus)
Familiar with surface & subsurface regulatory, environmental, and land requirements in the oil field (specifically TX, NM, CO).
Ability to travel domestically.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Solid understanding and experience in Process Engineering.
