Job Description
Our client is looking for a highly motivated team player to join our growing legal team. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative, fast-paced, and fun global franchise platform specializing in brands that help children learn, play, and grow.
You will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and build trusted relationships with the business teams, including our Franchise Development team, Operations team, and Food and Beverage team. Also, you will have primary responsibility for preparing franchise agreements, updating the Franchise Disclosure Document annually, negotiating supply chain agreements, managing brand protection, and assisting with corporate governance. We have minimal hierarchy, and your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact.
Required Skills & Experience
· 5-10+ years of combined, relevant experience with in-house legal departments or law firms
· Significant experience with US and international franchise laws, including, but not limited to updating the Franchise Disclosure Document, preparing and negotiating Franchise Agreements, and filing annual updates, as necessary.
· Experience negotiating and drafting vendor and supply chain agreements related to the operations of franchises
· Exceptional communication skills, oral and written
· M&A experience is a plus
· Sound and practical business judgment, curiosity, and problem-solving skills
· Fluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance for product and business teams
· Strong interpersonal skills
JD and active membership in Texas State Bar
