An employer is seeking a SQL Server Developer to join their team in the Energy Corridor area of Houston, TX. He or she will be joining a large oil and gas company to help their retail group to help provide the expertise and support to support the companies recent acquisition. The SQL Developer will be responsible for reducing cost and improving performance for the organization by helping them move data from SQL Server and SSIS to Azure Data Factory. This will include support by troubleshooting issues an internal user is facing and help with reporting through ETL development measures from one database to another as they transition to Azure. The ultimate goal is to provide data integrity through this data transition. The SQL Developer will be working alongside another Data Analyst during this transition as well as the team to help with database design and assist in implementing solutions for future projects. He or she can expect their day to day to include attending project meetings, provide solution and design recommendations to the team and ultimately performing database development and support. This is a hybrid onsite role working in office Tuesday - Thursday.
8+ years of experience in SQL Server development and administration
5+ years troubleshooting and infra database management in an Azure environment
Previous experience moving data over to Azure
Must be able to show their ability in troubleshooting and resolving database-related problems effectively
Strong communication skills to work alongside the various team members as well as ability to work independently
Experience with Application Service Automation (ASA) with Azure
Experience with Data Lakes
