Job Description
An employer in the MSP space is seeking a VP of Marketing to join the leadership team. This person will be responsible for defining and executing the marketing strategy that aligns with the companies business goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing initiatives within the technology or IT services industry. Reporting directly to the CRO, the VP, Marketing will lead a team of marketing professionals, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization. They will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and supports revenue growth, identify target markets, customer segments, and key value propositions to guide messaging and positioning, as well as, oversee the company's brand identity, ensuring consistency and relevance across all marketing channels. This person must position the company as a thought leader and trusted advisor within the MSP industry through thought leadership content, speaking engagements, and industry partnerships. Additionally, they will drive lead generation efforts through a combination of inbound and outbound marketing tactics, including content marketing, SEO, SEM, email campaigns, webinars, and events, and collaborate with the sales team to optimize lead-to-customer conversion rates and support the sales pipeline. They will manage the company's website, social media channels, and other digital platforms to enhance brand visibility and engagement, and oversee the creation of high-quality content such as blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and videos that address customer pain points, showcase solutions, and establish the company's expertise. This person will monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to ensure the company's online presence remains cutting-edge, define key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement robust tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. They will analyze data to extract insights, make data-driven decisions, and optimize marketing strategies for continuous improvement. Lastly, they will build and lead a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, and foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages creativity and excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
15+ years of B2B technology marketing with a focus on IT Services, MSP, or similar
Proven experience as a lead generating marketing leader; strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, SEM, social media, campaigns, and content marketing best practices
Experience in field marketing; conferences, panels, booths, industry related events
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic marketing plans that drive revenue growth
Proven experience in managing and leading a marketing team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Masters degree
Marketing experience in an M&A environment
