Job Description

· Complete flexibility analysis and computational pipe stress analysis on various piping systems in Caesar II.

· Mark up piping diagrams and isometrics to give feedback to piping and structural designers.

· Generate bills of material for supports, guides, anchors, stops, flex joints, expansion joints, etc. so that Tesla can procure materials needed for construction on time.

· Specify guide, anchor, and support types, including identifying alternate materials or suppliers in the event that lead times are longer than a project schedule allows.

· Effectively communicate the impact of stress analysis on various designs and escalate concerns with schedule and lead time of materials.

· Review and develop Master Specifications and engineering standards for the Factory Engineering team to build an expertise center surrounding Pipe Stress and Piping Design.

· Expert level of knowledge on pipe stress and pipe support design including ASME and ASTM codes.

· Takes full ownership of jobs; Participate in onsite construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution.

Review design work performed by others on the Process & Mechanical Design Teams, including 3D design work in Revit and/or Navisworks, to ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality and that pipe stress analysis results and requirements are incorporated. Continually develop and improve upon project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent.

Required Skills & Experience

· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in Pipe Stress Engineering for a large chemical or high-tech manufacturer or an EPC firm.

· Expert knowledge of ASME piping codes, ASTM piping standards, structural codes, and building and fire codes.

· Ability to provide & determine support designs for piping systems in lieu of Caesar II modelling.

· Firm understanding of construction means-and-methods.

· Ability to adapt, multi-task, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with evolving changes in design requirements.

· Expert knowledge of Caesar II, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.

· Desireto do the impossible with a positive and professional attitude.

Ability to communicate clearly and interface at an executive level.
