Job Description

*Design automated material handling solutions to establish new and improved existing material flows throughout the facilities. The design includes material arrival at docks, delivery to line-side locations, material transport between internal manufacturing lines, buffer/storage systems, robotic material handling solutions.

*Drive material flow strategies and dynamic manufacturing systems

*Develop analytical models to establish design criteria and overall system performance criteria

*Investigate and research advanced technologies to optimize material handling equipment and systems

*Concept development, detailed engineering design, and collaboration with system build and integration

*Develop RFQs, technical equipment specifications, procedures, and proper documentation

Required Skills & Experience

*BS in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience

*10 years+ of experience in material handling automation: AS/RS, electric monorail system, conveyance, mobile robotics (AGVs or AMRs), and robotic material handling

*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all organizational levels

*A passion to work on mechanical automation equipment, robots, design of electromechanical/pneumatic systems, motion controls and navigation & vision systems

*High mechanical aptitude

*Must understand the integration of equipment design into existing or new systems

*Values people, ethics, commitment, fun and an engaging culture

*Ability to apply principles of logical and innovative thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

*Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

*Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or similar modeling software

*A solid engineering background with hands-on design and development experience

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

*Knowledge of basic electrical systems such as panels, NEC/NFPA and safety standards

*Ability to design Pneumatic and Hydraulic circuits for equipment

*Ability to perform Structural FEA calculations

*Ability to perform motor sizing calculations for different applications

*PMP qualification an Asset

*CMSE qualification an Asset
