Job Description
Ryder logistics is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Engineer who has proven experience specifically related to Transportation Network Design. This individual will be responsible for the analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools and Lean methodologies to design supply chain solutions in current and future operations. This individual will collect data and performs statistical analysis, map and document processes, establish and implement performance measures, and re-design and/or re-engineer logistics processes. They will develop efficient utilization of resources (labor force, drivers and equipment) and recommend and implement process improvements. A successful candidate must have experience with a Network Design Software (Ryder uses Llamasoft (Coupa) Supply Chain Guru).
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years' experience working in Supply Chain/Transportation industry
- Proficient in transportation modeling & network design tools such as: Llamasoft (Coupa) Supply Chain Guru à (Supply Chain Guru X) Ryder uses this software, but any transportation modeling software is acceptable (but demonstrated proficiency in other industry standard tools is acceptable)
- Transportation experience necessary -- position will focus on transportation management (common carrier, TL, LTL).
- Proven experience analyzing transportation data for optimization opportunities, develop strategic network solutions, develop "what if" scenarios & identify improvement opportunities, continuous improvement mentality
- Transportation modeling/solutions development experience
- Working knowledge of transportation metrics & data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, etc), Advanced MS Excel and MS Office skills
- Strong customer facing presence and ability to clearly articulate savings opportunities to customer
- Ability to support solution development during sales pursuit process and collaboration with operations, sales, finance, analytics
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- "dedicated transportation" knowledge a plus
- Tools: Appian Direct Route, JDA Transportation Modeler, TMOD, etc.
- Specific experience with Llamasoft (Coupa) Supply Chain Guru
