An aerospace client of Insight Global is seeking an Acoustics Engineer to join their team in the SE Houston, TX area. This person will be responsible for performing acoustic emissions testing of spaceflight or flight-like hardware to ensure compliance with acoustic requirements. This will include pressure level, sound power level, and sound intensity measurements. They will prepare acoustic documentation, set up and operate the acoustic instrumentation and data acquisition system, ensure the acoustic compatibility of the measurement environment, and correct the measured data for acoustic effects, such as background noise. This person will process the results and generate reports that may include recommendations for quieting the hardware as needed. Finally, they will need to catalog the test documents, data, and reports per the work instructions.
Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, engineering, or technical discipline
5+ years of experience in Acoustics or noise control
Experience using a Head and Torso Simulator (HATS) to reduce noise properties.
Ability to take acoustic measurements.
Environmental acoustic measurement experience
