Job Description

Our client provides multidisciplinary engineering, consulting, field, and integrated pipeline services to the oil & gas markets. Insight Global is looking for a Civil Engineer to work for a large Engineering Service client here in Houston, Texas. This individual will be working on mid/large size projects with their Earthworks division where they will be working within Civil 3D. Majority of the work they will be doing for their clients will be Earthworks. They will perform studies on surveys for the draining systems, cut and fill, and erosion control. This person will also be tasked with running calculations for the hydrology studies. The Civil Engineer will be supporting the Lead Engineer as well as the Lead Designer to assist in the drawing layouts of the site, ditches, and roads associated with the project. They will also be interacting with the mapping group to get engrained in the surveys they performed. Additionally, this person will accompany the Lead Engineer in meetings with the Project Management group to stay up to date on the deliverables.



Earthworks team: Local to Houston, 1 lead and 2 drafters/designers. The rest of the team sits in Columbia (3 Engineers & 4 Designers). Earthwork is a growing group and they want to continue to provide this service to their clients.

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

-3+ years of Civil Engineering experience

-Land development experience (graining & drainage, land development) (does not need to be oil & gas experience)

-Earthwork experience

-Extremely proficient in Civil 3D (creative software used by Civil Engineers to plan, design, and manage civil engineering projects)

-Go getter

-Experience running calculations for Hydrology studies (study of water quality, quantity, flow and distribut8ion but most commonly refers to flood safety and prevention)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-EIT Certification

-Civil firm experience
