Job Description
A client of Insight Global's is actively looking for a Controller to work on a hybrid schedule in Houston, TX. This highly motivated and organized individual will oversee financial operations, manage budgets, including year-end, and direct/ plan all accounting operational functions for their TX, SC, & SD plants. The controller will directly report to the VP of Finance & Accounting who sits out of Chattanooga, TN and will have 6 local direct reports including the Assistant Controller and the AP/AR Managers. A successful candidate will be very analytical with a diversified Accounting/Finance background and have a go-getter mentality with the ability to effectively manage others in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills & Experience
· 10+ years handling high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and overseeing a company's overall financial activities.
· 10+ years of experience with general accounting, including overseeing financial statements- balance sheets, invoices, AP/AR, debits/credits.
· 2+ years' experience as a Controller or Sr. Cost Accountant Lead
· 2+ years of Accounting/ Finance experience in the Manufacturing Industry
· Strong in Cost Accounting: standard costing, activity-based costing, lean accounting, and marginal costing
- Looking for a fast-paced environment being solutions-oriented and process- driven
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Strong Experience with MS Dynamics and/or SAP
· Any Accounting Certifications: CPA, CMA, CFA, etc. and/or MBA in Accounting
- Strong experience managing direct reports
