Job Description
- Design reviews with the detailed construction design individuals
- Specifications and requirements documentation
o Gathering information and summarizing it for the project team
- Value engineering
o Anything from design - challenging the technical aspects of the design, looking at the design and asking "why?"
o Why so much load built into this? Why aren't we combining these?
o Live in design as its being developed
- Design completion - putting together technical completion packages
o Bid packages
- Site engineering team putting together technical aspect of that package
o Clarifications for inspections and quality
o Technical bit evaluation for selection of vendors
- Construction phase
o Development of ITPs- inspection and testing plans, RFIs, direct design changes in the field
o Specs and requirements of job
Then handled by super and quality team
Technical interpretation of the drawings
o Field sketches and direct design change in the field - take it back to office to implement it into IFC drawings
- Field based team -- will be heavily within the field!
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-7 years of experience (not senior here whatsoever)
- Bachelors degree in specific discipline
- Size and scope: oil and gas, heavy industrial, refinery, power plants, rotating equipment
o doesn't want the hospital, retail, home depot, data center, etc. that we've hired on for Austin location
- Needs oil & gas, refinery, power plant-type experience
- Needs experience on the contractor side (i.e. Kiewit) versus owner side (i.e. BP, ExxonMobile)
- Need experience in hundreds of million-dollar individual projects, not just a large total portfolio (aim for someone who's worked on single projects of like $700 million)
- Culture: newer in career, passionate about our client, willing to be a part of a new initiative, collaborate, roll with the punches!
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
PE License
- biggest priority: electrical and I/E background
- Electrical Engineering degree
