Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Analytics Cloud Services Engineer for one of our large oil and gas clients in Houston, TX. This persons primary responsibility will be to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is compliant with company standards and policies. This includes addressing non-compliance alerts, monitoring for ongoing compliance, and implementing best practices for security and data protection. The secondary responsibility of this role will be to modernize existing workloads that were deployed manually and not via code. The cloud engineer will be responsible for partnering with developers to refactor these workloads to be managed via automation, which will improve agility and scalability. They will work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve security issues and risks. They will also develop and maintain documentation and procedures related to security compliance. Additionally, they will identify and implement improvements to existing cloud infrastructure, including cost optimization and performance enhancements along with staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and security. Ideally this person would be willing to come on-site to work with the team Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years in cloud engineering with a focus in security and compliance



Experience working in a Azure cloud environment



Hold a current and valid associate-level or greater certification in either Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)



Capable of collaborating effectively in a geographically dispersed and remote team setting, with team members located in diverse time zones and physical locations



Experience with deployment automation tools, such as Terraform



Expertise in security protocols and industry-standard practices, such as access controls, encryption methods, and vulnerability management, with a keen ability to recognize and mitigate potential security threats



Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to gather and analyze information, identify potential solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations



Proven capacity to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure work environment characterized by rapid change, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
