Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Jr. System Administrator to join a large Oil and Gas client out of Dallas, TX. This resource will be required to sit on-site in Dallas, TX 4 days a week. This person will be joining the Application Support team that supports 300 applications within the refining and commercial space. We are looking for a junior level System/Network Admin or, a senior level Desktop Support engineer who is interested in moving into systems administration. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting advanced level server related technical assignments, resolving tickets, providing users with technical support, and resolving host system issues. This resource should also have working knowledge of Installing, supporting and administering software and/or custom applications, resolving issues at all levels and updating patches. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing tier 3 support primarily, and as needed assigned to tier 2 while also maintaining desktop hardware and peripherals inventory within the asset management system. Lastly, this resource will be responsible for Developing and maintaining clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation for the applications and supporting infrastructure environment, including detailed design documents and builds procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

* 5+ years' experience in a technical support role

* Experience using a ticketing system (Servicenow preferred)

* Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting windows operating systems

* Experience with managing several tickets at one time (5-10 tickets/day on average)

* Experience troubleshooting level 3 incidents or tickets

* Strong understanding of change control processes

* Experience supporting and troubleshooting applications in a Windows based environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or a related field

* Previous Oil and Gas/Refinery or manufacturing Experience

* Active directory
