Job Description
An employer located in Northwest Houston is looking for an experience Windows System Administrator to join their customer service-oriented team. This position will have some customer facing inquiries, but will primarily work alongside the Help Desk Tier One team members, in addition to outside vendors on certain issues. The position will support existing on-premise servers which are primarily Windows based, networking infrastructure, cloud based resources, security practices, and enterprise software. The role supports, implements, and maintains system operations and plans necessary upgrades and fixes. In addition, this position will research and provide recommendations of hardware and software technologies to meet the company's business requirements. This is a pivotal position in the company's migration into cloud-based resources like Microsoft Azure. This role is NOT remote, and requires on-site presence Monday - Thursday, with every other Friday being work-from-home.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in a system administration role
Expert knowledge with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365 platforms, Multi-Factor Authentication Tools, Exchange on-prem and online, and PowerShell security patching methods
Experience administrating Remote Access VPN technologies and associated infrastructure
Strong understanding of networking infrastructures and foundational understanding of TCP, DNS, DHCP, OSI Model, firewalls, DMZ, ADFS, and certificate authority management
Experience with server virtualization technology (VMWare/VSphere)
CompTIA A+, Networking+ and Security+ certifications
Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Mimecast email security tool
Sonicwall and/or Cisco Meraki
Bachelor's Degree in technical or related field
AWS or Azure experience
