Job Description

An insurance client of Insight Global is looking for a Sr Web Developer to join their Agent and Client Solutions IT Group. The candidate will be working on the Agent Solutions side of the group, providing support and working on projects improving the experience for their agents, they have over 1.5K insurance agents across the US. This team mainly supports an in-house system that has various functionalities for their agents to successfully support their new and current client base, such as digitizing legal documents, online applications, or quote illustrations. They have anywhere from 300-1000 applications being uploaded in the system per day so this person will spend about 80% of their time supporting this system, resolving issues in the production environment and increasing overall functionality. This candidate must be proficient in the full software development process, running applications on IBM WebSphere Application Server and Java Web Services, with Angular and TypeScript programming technologies, as well as strong Java/J2EE development skills. Preferred on-site for Houston local candidates to League City campus, or remote candidates comfortable with travel 1-2x per year.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in web-based software development, primarily with Java/J2EE

Experience developing single-page applications with Angular

4+ years of experience developing UI components in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

Strong written, verbal, customer service and analytical skills
