Job Description
A large oil and gas employer is looking for a Sr IoT Consultant to join their team in the Houston, TX area. The IoT Team is responsible for delivering and supporting a unified IoT architecture that will facilitate the need for IoT adoption across the company's assets globally. This role shall report to the Supervisor of IoT Architecture and will be responsible for supporting the team and company in their digital journey to realize business value and improve operational performance through the adoption of IoT solutions (smart sensors, devices, gateways, networks and cloud services ) out in the field. The main function of this role will be to interface and maintain relationships with business users, service groups, vendors and project teams to identify IoT solutions that address business use cases. This will be achieved through implementation, day to day support and maintenance of documentation, processes and procedures owned by the team. As this team is relatively small, this person must be willing to get hands on deployment, testing and support of the IoT devices, as well.
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of experience with IoT solution development, primarily with Azure IoT services
Extensive experience working directly with the business to gather requirements and identify opportunities to paid pair those with IoT solutions
Prior experience researching and recommending new IoT technologies
Experience implementing a variety of Azure IoT Services: Azure IoT Hub, Azure Event Hub, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Time Series Insights and Azure Blob storage
Knowledge of programming principles
Experience working in or supporting the Oil and Gas industry
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) devices
Extensive hands on experience with a variety of programming languages such as C/C++, Java and/or python
